I'm speechless. That's unusual for me, but after a year of making tutorials and answering questions- all of which I've done for free out of the goodness of my heart, I'm beginning to get sick and tired of some people. Computer noobs I don't mind. In fact, I WANT to help them. My Mum, for instance, has needed help setting up Hypercam and although it took about 10 minutes for her to find the setting screen, she was grateful and I felt as if I had achieved something. Same with people on Hammer. Sure, I get fed up with people unable to find 'Save as' in the drop down menus at the top of the screen and I end up giving them a tutorial on how to follow the tutorials, but hey. Once again, I guess it's worth it in the end. I get more infuriated by people who are unable to find my tutorials. Come on- I even have a forum page listing all of them, and there's a link to that page in every one of my youtube tutorials.
I guess I'm to blame for some of the questions. I just ASSUME that people know of programs like FRAPs and Hypercam and I now ignore people asking what I use to record my videos with. Think about it- that's like asking a magician how they do their tricks. Some things are best left undiscovered, especially when answering them only leads to hundreds of questions as they attempt to become as good as you are at it. The second to worst types of people are those who refuse to see sense. I get fed up of people spamming i see wireframe on your CSS video, u hax' and 'u can tell that Soletare game is speeded up' but at the end of the day they're just TOO stupid to be able to talk sense in to (Though that doesn't stop me from trying, which in turn makes them think they have a reasonable point and they continue to argue their case even though they have nothing to back it up with, much like all of those conspiracy cases where it MIGHT have happened, but they fail to realise it's up to them to prove it, instead of others having to disprove the conspiracy. Noobs. This is why I refuse to believe in any conspiracy theories.) The worst types of people, however, are those who are ungrateful. They seem to think that they are the only ones who matter and that everybody else is bound to serve them, much like my PC is to me. Take this recent PM I received. Yeah, I'll admit it. Every one of the PMs I have that have a horribly long line of REs along the top I replied to earlier, saying quite politely that I didn't mind helping with questions, but when they as so many pointless, generic questions just for the sake of it then I get frustrated. It's interesting to see how many people bite back with a load of abuse once they realise I'm no longer answering every one of their PMs. (Of course, if they were just to PM me with a new question and heading after a day or so I wouldn't remember them and I'd carry on as if I had never talked to them before). Oh look I've jsut received my second reply. Aww. You almost feel sorry for them if it wasn't for the fact that this ping pong match has been going on for so long that the original question has been pushed off the first line of the topic by the dreaded, repeating Re's. So yeah, rant over. Just don't expect me to rush to your aid if you reply 100 times, PM me with stupid headings (I got a swearword one about 2 hours ago), get me to make your map for you or if you ask me to make a laser tutorial that burns through bodies, sets fire to things then finishes it off with a firework display. Actually, I don't mind the last one too much.
